While this article is a few months old, it's still sound advice. Scuba and panic do not mix well. Stay calm and SCUBA on!

Goodbye 2015
We've lived through, thankfully, another 365 days and will soon be closing 2015. While I've had many new and exciting experiences (a new professional job, working a summer job with the state department of agriculture, building a sweet deck onto our home, and purchasing my first ever NEW truck), I've missed the water.
I did get the chance to do some private scuba lessons earlier in the year. Regardless, I missed out on lots of summertime diving and teaching...which also means missing out on lots of fun companionship time, too. My promises to myself for the new year will include several typical items: try to be in better physical condition and health, organize and declutter, and MAKE TIME TO DIVE MORE!!!
I hope to see you all at the local dive sites in 2016...& maybe at a watering hole after.

My New Job
Happy Summer!
For many divers, the dog days of summer and the month of August are prime times to get as many dives in as possible. If you can avoid the algae bloom and stirred up silt from over crowded quarries, you're sure to find great water temps, especially for Ohio wet suit divers. I'm somewhat jealous.
Today starts the beginning of another new chapter of my work related career. As year number 30 of my education career begins, I've been offered (& accepted) a new position at Bucyrus HS--that of Associate Principle for grades 9-12. This will hopefully be a fantastic way, as an administrator, to finish up the last years of my career...whether that be 2, 5, or 10 years from now. Scuba diving? Yes, this will be a bit more of a challenge as I'll be working year around. Regardless, I will continue to dive and teach as much as I can, so give me a call and we'll hot the water!

Scuba Fest 2015
I spent part of today with PADI professionals in our central Ohio area during the annual Scuba Fest conference in Columbus. The yearly instructor's update was interesting and, thanks to Gary Joyce and his technology, he made the presentation between iPad, phone, and other gadgets look easy!
Hope there's another Scuba Fest for you all to attend next year.
